Hanna and Daryl enjoyed a fantastic trip to Barcelona, Spain during a break from hockey last February. We took a flight through Ryan Air from Dusseldorf(Weeze) in Germany and arrived in a sunny and warm Spain. From the airport we were 1 hour from the center of Barcelona where our hotel was located which gave us the opportunity to enjoy the sites outside the city while on the bus. Once we arrived at the train station we walked to La Ramblas (main street in Barcelona) and settled into our hotel. We couldnt wait to enjoy the sites so we spent about 1/2 hour to relax and then went straight to the shopping and eating areas. Now, we both enjoy seafood so this was a great place for us to eat. During our trip we ate great food, experienced some fantastic shopping, walked A LOT, drank our fair share of beer, wine and cava, watched fantastic street performers and most of all the enjoyed spending 4 days with each other. If you ever get the chance to go to Barcelona we recommend you do not turn the chance down. It is a beautiful city with lots to keep you entertained. In the future we plan to return, maybe even twice! We loved this trip and has to be on the list of one of our favorite memories together. Enjoy the pictures below!

Orebro, Sweden --- Christmas 2006
Daryl and Hanna spent the Christmas holidays in Orebro, Sweden during Daryl's first year in Tilburg. Hanna was still living and working in Sweden so they took advantage of every opportunity to spend time together. This would be the first Christmas we would spend together and now we know it isnt going to be the last! Hanna picked Daryl up at the airport and they travelled to Orebro to see family and friends for the holidays. The Bengtsson family decided to spend the holidays at there summer house just outside Orebro and what a fantastic time it was. It was the perfect way to relieve stress from work and play and too enjoy time with each other. Like always, the family enjoyed Lena, Hanna and Sandra's cooking and Daryl, Per and Anders enjoyed the beer and whiskey!!! Whether it was playing cards, talking or taking an outside hottub we made the best of the time we had together and it turned out to be a fantastic Christmas holidays. As it was our first Christmas together it would have to be one of our favorite memories!
Barrie, Ontario (Golf Tournament) --- August 2008
Now, when we Daryl and Hanna first got together she was not a golf fan. Oh how times have changed! During the summer we went to the driving range a few times, hit a lot of balls and tried to teach Hanna the basic's of the golf swing. Now, it got frustrating for both of us, but Hanna stuck with it and now she is a golf-fanatic!!!! Near the end of the summer she would wake up in the mornings and ask to go golfing. If it was raining she was upset because we couldnt golf. If I had prior plans to golf with my friends she was disappointed. It made me happy to see she had the golf itch and we tried to take full advantage of the rest of the summer. We entered a 4 man scramble golf tournament with my parents and had a blast. The beer and wine was flowing like water which would make you think our score was awful, but we actually shot -11. Thats right -11. We were all surprised, but with Cathy's drives, Daryl's approach shots and Hanna's putting we were on fire. What about Joe your asking? He had a few to many beers and was the weak link, but it was on his tab so we werent complaining...haha! We should have finished first place for the couples section of the tournament, but they screwed up the scorecards so we finished 2nd. Obviously Cathy complained and we all received flowers as an apology from the tourny. All in all it was a fantastic day and know this summer will be a golfing summer for Hanna and Daryl. You know your fiance is golf freak when she wants to go on a golf trip for your honeymoon. Isnt that every guys dream?
